There are many interpretations or definitions I’ve heard over the years of the word “REVIVAL”. Let me put it simply!
REVIVAL IS BEING DEAD TO THE WORLD AND ALIVE TO GOD!
Now this can take on many outward expressions…however one thing I must say is that repentance is always a precursor to revival it is not revival itself. As the awakening of the heart unto the Lord and loving His presence more than life itself is revival.
The water of the baptism of repentance being poured over the alter of the heart… as Elijah in 1Kings 18 prophetically demonstrated, preluded the raining down of fire on the alter, so repentance preludes the revival fire awakening hearts that are dead to His touch.
Whether that be a Luke warm church, a church operating in religion or legalism, or simply the lost that are needing to be snatched from the grip of Hell, all need to be declared dead to these things in order to become “awakened” and “alive” to God and His presence!
Revival is not the power, there is a difference between the power and the presence, (and hopefully I’ll do a teaching on this soon),
PRESENCE is INTIMACY!!!
REVIVAL is being restored to your FIRST LOVE!!
This does not mean I am against the power! God forbid!!! I am simply trying to clarify definition… because if you seek “revival” as many are, and your focus is on power, then maybe your prayers are misaligned!
Yes in this time… there is going to be a great “turning” and “returning” happen in the earth as the winds of revival blow and draw His beloved back into His presence. So they can be true “sons” of God awakened to His Presence, being led by His Spirit, moving in dominion and the POWER OF HIS RESURRECTION!
