Recently I had a dream in line with Luke 12:42-46.
In the dream there were those in a house whose father was away, and they were loosing heart and backsliding and becoming carnal. It was as if unrighteous behaviour was escalating just before his return even though they didn’t know he was about to return. All of a sudden He came through the door with what looked like his hands full of shopping bags. As he walked through the door it was a sudden shock, quite unexpected as if people were caught in the act. It was as if he was the husband man and father all at the same time. As he crossed the threshold of the front door, the authority of His presence brought utter conviction and the fear of God to those who had fallen into unrighteous behaviour. His return was unexpected and “sudden” which added to the feeling of shock and awe. His shopping were I believe provision for the hour to supply for “his house”. The reward for the faithful. GUARD AGAINST GROWING WEARY IN WELL DOING With this dream I felt it was a warning to His beloved to guard against growing weary while doing good. As it is sometimes at your most weariest moment you are vulnerable and tempted to give up and slip into carnality and abort faith. When you abort faith you enter into disobedience. The scripture says in Luke 18: 7-8 (in the parable of the woman and the unjust judge) that He will protect and avenge his chosen ones who call upon him day and night and he will not delay or defer help on their behalf. He goes on to say in verse 8 that He will avenge and protect them speedily. But then he asks a question to those waiting to be avenged “when He comes will he find faith”? Will He find those still in the space of belief or will He find a people unprepared that have given up in their hearts? Because the state of giving up leads to unbelief and unbelief leads you into carnality of dead works. Galatians 6:9 ”And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our COURAGE and faint.“ We need courage to remain in faith. Your heart needs to be strengthened and en-couraged to remain in courage. Sometimes before He comes with the supply, whatever that looks like, it can look the most impossible and hopeless. The devil cranks up his tactics because he knows if he can tempt you to give up in your heart and loose faith and belief then you won’t reap at the appointed time. There is an appointed time of reaping and according to this scripture in Luke 18:7 He will NOT delay. If we look at the parable of Luke 12 we see that the servant thought his master had “delayed” then he lost the plot and walked in the fruits of the flesh. The bible says without a vision the people perish. The word perish here means to lose self-control and cast off restraint. We need to remain in vision (faith) and when we remain in vision we remain in hope that undergirds faith. Hope is what keeps the heart strong. Without hope you end up like a valley of dry bones. ”Then He said to me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. Behold, they say, Our bones are dried up and our hope is lost; we are completely cut off.“ Ezekiel 37:11 AMPC The house of Israel lost hope because they didn’t listen to the prophetic word of God that keeps one alive. 2 Chronicals 20:20 says listen to the prophets and live. This means to keep your ear inclined to the voice of vision in your life and you will remain alive. Paul tells Timothy to wage war on the prophetic words given to him. Sometimes waging war looks like a choice not to give up. Stand therefore in your faith. Get your emotions under control. It is possible to give up and no one know you have. You can be like a whitewashed tomb going through the motions going to church every Sunday but dead inside. The Lord is wanting to light your wick again so that you won’t be found wanting in the hour of reward, but that you will be found in faith, in expectation for the avenger to bring recompense and justice. As Luke 18:1 the parable of the woman and the unjust judge stipulates the message behind the parable. In this life of injustice there are battles we engage and journeys we embark on in order to aright wrongs. The Lord wants us to fight for our portion. He is not likening Himself as an unjust judge but he is likening the persistence and endurance we need to overcome as that of the woman who met with injustice through this unjust judge. The Lord begins in the first verse revealing that persistence in prayer is the key to not falling asleep and giving up. ”ALSO [Jesus] told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not to turn coward (faint, lose heart, and give up).“ Luke 18:1 AMPC Prayer keeps your heart in courage as when you are in communication with the Lord He will always be speaking. When He speaks, His word is life and keeps your faith strong. To take courage means to give support, confidence or hope to someone. So to remain in hope is very key to remaining in courage. As soon as your heart becomes “dis – couraged” you look at the natural and that becomes your narrative and measuring line. Discourage means : prevent or seek to prevent (something) by showing disapproval or creating difficulties. persuade (someone) against an action. To persuade means : to convince someone to believe something under sustained effort through reason or arguments. This is the arguments of the mind Paul says to cast down. This is done through prayer. 2 Corinthians 10:5 See the prayer that Jesus is talking about here in Luke 18:1 isn’t just petitional prayer but as we petition the Lord gives strategy. We have to cast down imaginations, we have to bind the enemy, and take authority over what the Lord is showing you to do. It’s not a begging scenario but a scenario of waging war and fighting the fight of faith. It is all done from the seat of prayer. This is the enemies tactics. He uses people and circumstances to make you feel like you cannot make it or prevail. That is why the Lord uses this parable of the unjust judge. The unjust judge is the devil. It is the resistances he creates of injustice through people and circumstance to try and block you from your portion. We don’t plead with the devil for reprieve, that is not the moral nor instruction of this story, but rather continuing to persist and pray and see the barriers that cannot withstand real faith crumble. Real faith has been tested in the fire of time. Real faith is not this hyper emotion that says I believe I believe, blab it and grab it stuff. No real faith is tested in the fire and will persist when everything says no to what God has said yes to. That is the kind of faith that says to a mountain be removed and cast into the sea. It is the faith that is born of God and overcomes the world. Don’t give up – Dad is about to walk through the front door arms laden with reward. Anita Alexander
