I notice I’m naturally drawn to people of a humble spirit and find the people who gain and have my respect and trust the most are those who are humble.
Gifting’s demonstrated void of humility actually repulse me… personally. Sorry if that’s strong language, but I just don’t seem to stand in awe of those in position, power, influence, status, wealth, or who can sing the best, act the best, prophesy the best, preach the best and who don’t possess the virtue of humility.
HUMILTY IS ATTRACTIVE
Personally I think humility would have to be the most attractive quality a person can have.
Those who are of a humble spirit are safe, and trusting them with my heart is effortless. I then think and ponder on this and conclude that the Lord thinks this way too.
According to scripture, Humility is also what attracts Him and I find that He too is repulsed by pride. James 4:6.
Humility is a mark that declares “I am trustworthy” as it is a virtue by which the Lord outlines throughout scripture as a pre curser for the INCREASE of His Grace (his endowment of His divine influence, empowerment and favour). He gives MORE and MORE GRACE to the humble.
That means HUMILTY ATTRACTS HEAVEN.
HUMILTY LAUNCHES A LIFE INTO SIGNIFICANCE
Humility is the prerequisite of promotion and elevation by The Lords Hand.
James 4:10. Amp version
“Humble yourselves [feeling very insignificant] in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you [He will lift you up and make your lives significant].”
Well isn’t HUMILTY to stay in a lowly position and never be seen? Why would the Lord then want to exalt you? Isn’t that a contradiction?
Absolutley not! Humility does not mean you cannot have a position of wealth, power and influence!
It is having lowliness of mind and rating yourself with sober judgement and not thinking you’re better than the person next to you!
It is knowing who you are! When you truly Know who you are in Him then you truly know who you are with out Him. You are nothing without Him, but everything in Him!
So to be exalted and lifted up is for you to be positioned to demonstrate who He is in you! It is, like James 4:10 says, making your life significant.
I think all human beings are born with a desire to be significant, and desiring to make a difference for good in this world is not pride. It is our need for significance.
SIGNIFICANCE according to the dictionary means to have importance or noteworthy, substance, gravity.
I don’t know about you but I want my life to have had importance on this earth, to have had substance and gravity. It is not prideful to desire this. In fact it is being a good steward of the life He has given you. I want my life to have meant something in the time I am here, I want my life to have had SIGNIFICANCE!
Whether this Significance is raising honourable children who will positively contribute to society, feed the poor, clothe the needy or teach the masses, I want in some way for my life to have left a mark of significance on this earth.
But to seek this apart from Him, apart from His enabling and leading and for the purpose of seeking Glory to oneself is in fact pride and we know what the word says about the outcome of pride. It is in fact a fall or destruction. Proverbs 16:18.
HUMILTY IS THE MARK OF YHE OVERCOMER
HUMILTY is the mark of the new wine skin.
Humility is the mark of the overcomer. To be an overcomer you must walk in His Grace. You need His Grace (empowerment) to truly overcome. The arm of the flesh and gifting not under the empowerment of heaven isn’t going to endure or cut it in this hour and the times to come.
What is it that you pride yourself in? Is it your knowledge? Your intellect? Your great abilities and talents? Your great achievements? It means nothing and will amount to nothing outside of the Grace of God. These works according to scripture will be a broken off branch that will shrivel up and die and be cast into the fire. For it was Jesus who said apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:5 &6.
In fact the Lord says He will take the foolish things of the world to confound the wise.
1 Corinthians 1:24-31 AMP version
“But to those who are called, whether Jew or Greek (Gentile), Christ [is] the Power of God and the Wisdom of God. [This is] because the foolish thing [that has its source in] God is wiser than men, and the weak thing [that springs] from God is stronger than men. For [simply] consider your own call, brethren; not many [of you were considered to be] wise according to human estimates and standards, not many influential and powerful, not many of high and noble birth. [No] for God selected (deliberately chose) what in the world is foolish to put the wise to shame, and what the world calls weak to put the strong to shame. And God also selected (deliberately chose) what in the world is lowborn and insignificant and branded and treated with contempt, even the things that are nothing, that He might depose and bring to nothing the things that are, So that no mortal man should [have pretense for glorying and] boast in the presence of God. But it is from Him that you have your life in Christ Jesus, Whom God made our Wisdom from God, [revealed to us a knowledge of the divine plan of salvation previously hidden, manifesting itself as] our Righteousness [thus making us upright and putting us in right standing with God], and our Consecration [making us pure and holy], and our Redemption [providing our ransom from eternal penalty for sin]. So then, as it is written, Let him who boasts and proudly rejoices and glories, boast and proudly rejoice and glory in the Lord. “
THE LAW OF ATTRACTION ~ BEAUTY ATTRACTS
HUMILITY = BEAUTY
Humility to man may appear unattractive and weak. It may look like an unattractive path to take to the perception of the natural eye. HUMILTY to man may sometimes even seem foolish.
For to forgive requires HUMILTY, to say “I’m sorry” requires Humility, to admit that your were wrong requires HUMILTY , to not go and tell the whole world how great you are and let another man praise you requires humility, to wait on Gods timing requires humility, to allow the Lord to heal your heart requires humility because His ways aren’t our ways, to let go of bitterness and injustice requires humility, to let the Lord avenge you requires humility, to love your enemies requires humility, to be accountable requires humility, and wait for it the big bombshell……. for the body of Christ to be able to walk in UNITY it will require HUMILITY and a lot of it!
Though these paths to man may look unattractive, to the Lord it is beautiful!!!
We know that Beauty attracts! The Lord is attracted like a Bridegroom to His bride, pulled and drawn to this beauty of humility. As an act of His display of affection as a Bridegroom would kiss His Bride, the Lord kisses His beloved with His Grace and encompasses and clothes her in His beauty. The beauty and empowerment of the favour of heaven, upon this life who chose the path of surrendering to His ways!
Oh the beauty of a vessel surrendered to the hand of the one who made it. Oh the beauty that exudes out of a heart and life yielded to the wisdom of the Lord. For the Grace that the Lord bestows upon a life surrendered to His hand truly reflects His beauty.
This beauty, His Grace, He bestows on the humble is now attractive to man.
This is what James talks about as the exalting and lifting up. The beauty of the Lord to gain favour with man to position one to demonstrate heaven within them. What a beautiful sight that is!
