The majorities opinion based on a perverse culture does NOT DEFINE YOU, your WORTH or your joy.
Jesus Christ in you the Hope of Glory is what defines you. If you are in Him then You are defined by WHO HE IS IN YOU!
Don’t allow man’s opinion, or your own for that matter, that is rooted in a culture that is not defined by His love define you.
Don’t allow your own expectations to define you. Your value and worth cannot be measured against your failures and successes. The world’s standard uses those measuring tools but In Christ your worth and value is measured against Him and Him alone.
Let His word concerning you define you. That is building your house on the rock. Your self image, self esteem, value and worth must be “found” in Christ, then if you fail, or succeed you will not be shaken or moved. You won’t backslide, fall away or be taken out by that which can be shaken and that is, an identity built upon the sand. Successes and failures can both cause one to backslide if your identity is not “found” in Christ.
If you are depressed, hopeless, feeling rejected, dejected and lost, go to His word and discover what He says about you. You once may have known but have lost your way, circumstances may have tried to define you. Sometimes we go through things in life that try and shape and mould us. But if we are constantly putting the word of God up to our view as a mirror we can go through trials in life and it does not define us. It doesn’t change our belief in what He says about us.
When you go to the word You will FIND yourself, as your identity is found in what He says about you.
No longer will you be lost. In Him is the only place to be found. You cannot “find” yourself in your career, your successes, achievements, your failures, your giftings, your talents, your social status, your educational status, in your parental roles, the successes of your children or being a husband or wife. You can’t find yourself in other people or through other people. You can only “find” yourself as you put the word of God up as a mirror and experience His words about you.
As a man thinks in his heart so is he. (Proverbs 23:7)
We need to change how we think about ourselves, and think as God thinks about us.
This is just a few of His thoughts about us…
You are LOVED with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3, 1 John 4:19)
You were WORTH the cross (John 3:16)
You were “known” and in God’s mind before you were in your mother’s womb (Jeremiah 1:5)
You are fearfully and wonderfully made and your destiny has purpose and is recorded in your book in heaven. (Psalm 139:14-18)
You have a hope and a future. (Jeramiah 29:11)
You are the head and not the tail, above and not beneath. (Deuteronomy 28:13)
You are able to do ALL things “through” Christ. (Philippians 4:13)
You are more than a conqueror through Christ who LOVES YOU! (Roman’s 8:37)
Friends we MUST teach our children WHO they are in Christ. The pressures of this world and the culture of this day is so many light years away from the plum line of the truth of God’s word. If our kids aren’t being defined by the word of God they will be measuring their worth against a culture that is perverse, deceitful and crooked to the core. This is catastrophic. This is why anxiety, depression and fear is at record rate in our young people. The perverse mirror is being held up to them everywhere they look.
The word of God must be our measuring line, our mirror, our solutions and answers.
Go Find yourself.… IN CHRIST. Let the word of God be your daily bread. It will be the most revolutionary thing you could ever do for yourself.
