Zipping it can be an act of spiritual warfare. The devil would love to ensnare you with your words. Ive learnt its even important to zip it in secret. Don’t let the need to defend yourself or justify yourself be a snare. Just zip it!
As you bless those who judge you and curse you, (Matthew 5:44) you are pushing back that curse, that judgement that reviling, accusation and anger. The enemy doesn’t let up knocking on your door. Yes he can’t just barge in, you need to open the door to him. Blessing those who revile, curse, judge, accuse and lie about you is like saying to the knock at the door, no thank you go away. But reacting is like opening the door letting him in and before you know it you have invited calamity and destruction in. Don’t trip on offence. Don’t let your foot be ensnared by other people’s lack of fruit. Bless those who curse you, pray for those who despitefully use you. And most of all ZIP IT!
Just through experience I have learnt that the enemy actually sends offence or the opportunity to be offended when you are about to cross a threshold and enter into a breakthrough, or as a counter attack after a victory.
Recognise his wiles and put up your shield of faith. The devil is a liar!
